Biography
Parathym is the electronic music project of German artist Rasmus Knauer — a producer and live performer deeply rooted in underground techno culture.
After early experiences with punk, hardcore, and guitar-driven bands in the 1990s, Parathym became increasingly drawn to the raw energy of the emerging techno scenes in Hamburg and Berlin. Influenced by the uncompromising spirit of early underground techno, he developed a sound that combines hypnotic grooves, driving percussion, and dark futuristic atmospheres.
Today, Parathym works with a hybrid setup combining Ableton Live, analog synthesizers, drum machines, and extensive outboard gear. His music emerges organically through live experimentation, spontaneous studio performance, and direct interaction with hardware.
